Airport in Gdańsk:
Lech Wałęsa Airport in Gdańsk – besides Warsaw and Kraków – is a key international airport in Poland. As the third largest airport in Poland it acts as the stand-by airport for the airport in Warsaw.
The airport in Rębiechowo is only 10 km away from the centre of Gdańsk. It is a similar distance as to the centre of Sopot and the centre of Gdynia is 23 km away. The developed road network connecting the airports with the centres of the cities makes it possible to cover the distance by car within 15-20 minutes.
On 1 September 2015 the T2 passenger terminal was connected directly to the line of the Pomeranian Metropolitan Railway which is a modern element of the regional railway system. The trains run mainly on the route Gdańsk-Wrzeszcz-Airport and back although a part of the route has been extended to reach Gdańsk Osowa or Gdynia Główna. PKM (Pomeranian Metropolitan Railway) runs every 15 minutes during the day while in the morning and at night the timetable has been suited to the first wave of departures and the last wave of arrivals at the airport.
